changing light paintings

The changing light series comes out of an interest in arches which is a fundamental structure in architecture as is the wall in the reconstruction wall series and light as viewed in changing sky scapes. Like early paintings of the seventies there are underlining shadows of structures reflecting changes in light and structure. Here the notion of impermanence and change are reflected through a series of concentric arches. This series developed out of the rainbow painting in the white series. The artist spent months in recovery from eye surgeries unable to work viewing the changing light during evening sunsets which was a primary source of inspiration for the series.
